io & shimmerz swap... eye candy every day this week

what a great week io and shimmerz have planned for you. their design teams are having a swap each day this week. both DT's are using io stamps and shimmerz to create their art. now that really is shimmerzy. unfortunatley i haven't had a chance to create anything for you to see, but hopefully by the end of the week i will have a little something to show.

check out the io site now for a blog hop...

also check out dina's site for some yummy io stamp candy...

happy july 4th and a few other things...

just wanted to wish all of my american followers a happy july 4th! hope you have a wonderful day celebrating red, white and blue!

next on my list...

we went camping last weekend with our friends and had an amazing time even though it rained on sunday. the kids played hard and we had fun watching our kids experience all the fun stuff that goes along with camping... burnt marshmallows, tadpoles with legs, slip sliding in the mud, swinging in the hammock chair, eating spider dogs... and the list goes on.

here are a few pics from that weekend...

next hubby took the kids to port dover for canada day. there was a boat parade and a street parade and fireworks at night. they had an awesome time.

new card

this stamped image is so pretty! it's called zinneas by impression obsession. I used my tombow markers and copics to colour in the image after i embossed it. i also used crystal effects by SU to make it look like there really is water in the vases... (although it's hard to tell in the photo).

sneak peek time...

TaDa Creative Studios is launching 3 great new collections at CHA Summer, and it’s time to take a peek! This is just a glimpse of the printed papers, along with the coordinating Tag-a-ma-jigs and Pocket Notes for each new collection. But as usual all of these collections will have coordinating Oooh La La Layers (laser cuts) and rubber stamps too!

The first collection is called EIEIO. This adorable farm themed collection is perfect for baby boy, memories from a trip to the farm, or any fall themed photos. The animals depicted in this collection are very unique and captivating. See for yourself!

The second collection is called Festivus. The unique mosiac styled designs allow for lots of versatility! Circular cuts, chunky cutouts, or simply standing by themselves, these papers will give your layouts lots of energy. The fun petite striped backs coordinate perfectly. This collection contains a two-sided sheet for every major holiday on your calendar, and even includes a birthday themed sheet. Now you can build a coordinating album that covers a whole year worth of events.

The third collection is called Abode a la Mode. This fun and funky collection was inspired from interior design, and has a chic home feel. It has fun outdoor elements too. This collection will be perfect to pair with our new product called Scrapcity! Watch the TaDa blog for more info on that special product coming soon!!!

another card found in my stash...

here is another card i created for a stampin' up workshop. this technique is really easy! stamp image on cardstock. stamp image again on same coloured cardstock and punch out (i used a circle punch). punch out another circle in black and use it as a mat. colour in the image only on the punched out circle and layer on top of the original stamped image. this can be a really fun technique if you want to highlight a certain area in a larger stamped image. have fun, play around, i think you'll like this technique.
