In other words, you just have to place on order of any size any time between the months of July and December each year in order to be eligible to keep placing orders.

4. Rewards for Reaching Sales Goals

This especially applies to those who are just starting out selling Scentsy. First there is what is called the Shooting Star Enhancement Kit. This is a package of 10 pre-selected full-size warmers that can be purchased by you for only $200. You earn this reward by selling $500 during your first 15 days as a Scentsy Consultant. This kit is great for building your own personal stock to sell on a cash and carry basis or to use for your own personal gift giving. And when you purchase this kit it counts toward your sales for that month, so you will receive commission on your own purchase.

Next there is what is called the Scentsational Start Award Program. This award is earned during your first 70 days as a Scentsy consultant and is divided into three different levels:

Level 1 Qualifications: $1500 in sales or three personally sponsored active consultants

Award: $50 Product Credit, Green Scentsy Scentsational lapel pin, Certificate of Achievement, Name in Monthly Newsletter

Level 2 Qualifications: $3000 in sales or $1500 in sales and three personally sponsored active consultants

Award: $125 product credit, Purple Scentsy Scentsational lapel pin, Certificate of Achievement, Name in Monthly Newsletter

Level 3 Qualifications: $6000 in sales or $3000 in sales and six personally sponsored active consultants

Award: $200 product credit, Blue Scentsy Scentsational lapel pin, Certificate of Achievement, Name in Monthly Newsletter, recognized at National Convention, Name on Scentsy Wall of Fame

You also receive an extra 5% commission each month that you reach sales of $2,400 or more.

Fun Fair a Success!

Welp, the fundraiser I had running for Mia and Sophie's school was successful! I was able to raise $80.50 which doesn't seem much in the grand scheme of things, but every little bit helps, right? The kids had fun at the fun fair... running around with their friends, playing all of the games, eating ice-cream and candies, getting their faces painted etc. A lot of parents came out to support the school which was really great to see. For such a small school, we really do have tonnes of support from the families.

I just set up another fundraiser for a friend of mine... her little guy was diagnosed 2 & 1/2 years ago with type 1 diabetes and will be part of the Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes. I will be donating my commission from all Scentsy sales to Team Blaker in hopes of reaching his goal of $6,000. Here is his video and donation page if you'd like to take a peek...

Yesterday on my way home from grocery shopping, i decided to stop in Waterford and take a walk along another old rail trail that has a pond on one side and a wonderful wetland on the other. I was able to get a few nice pictures of a red winged black bird (they are very skittish!) and a close up of a frog. I usually see turtles out sunning themselves on old logs, but i guess it wasn't sunny enough for them yesterday because i didn't see a single one. I had a baltimore oriole in my sights, but i just wasn't quick enough to snap a picture... a male and female were gathering fluff for their nest i presume. I also spotted a very cool bird in the wetland, but he spotted me at the very same time and took off like a flash... and with the mega zoom on my camera, it was very difficult to follow him as he flew off. I'm not sure what type of bird it was... i'll need to look him up and verify.

I just wanted to share a few pictures from yesterday's stroll down the trail. Phil, the girls, the Rubster and I went for a nice walk yesterday after dinner. The girls were of course a little too noisy for me to capture any wildlife photos, so i stuck to the botanical kind LOL! There is one shot of some busy ants scurrying around trying to save their babies after Sophie split the log that they were shacking up in (you'll need to click on the photo to have it zoom in). I'm also attaching a couple of pictures from Mia's birthday celebration that we had on Saturday with our family... she turned 9 yrs. old on May 17th... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIA! Wow, 9 years already!

had a great time today with amanda, jen and cherie shopping at VV... i had a 25% off coupon and saved a great deal on my purchases. the girls were thrilled with all of their new t-shirts, shorts and gap hoodies as well as the new books and disney edition of trivial pursuit! jen was nice enough to scope out some awesome birks for $5 bucks and yep they are a perfect fit! thanks jen! great day spent with great friends!

i was able to go for a walk with the girls when they came home from school. we saw the grosbeak and warbler again, but i couldn't get a good shot this time. the fish did not show their little faces and the chipmunk was also shy today, so the girls didn't get to see them. i did however take some other random photos... love to hear what you think.

nature hike

well today's hike was even much more fulfilling than yesterday and now i have it on film (or should i say digi). I was able to get a few good shots of mr. grosbeak, i'm so happy he came back for the photo shoot. i was also able to get some pictures of the yellow warbler... the first one i tried to capture just would not sit still and kept hopping from branch to branch making it almost impossible for me to find him while in full zoom... tricky tricky! i got a cool picture of him in flight and then on the way back a different one was nice enough to stay put and sing to me while i zoomed in. i was even lucky enough to find a cute little chipmunk who sat for me to take his photo. i'll have to remember to take some peanuts with me tomorrow to show my thanks.

ruby loves going for walks and swims and thankfully i got a picture of the little fish before she dove in for a well deserved drink of water. She even sat still for me to take a few pictures of her too.

like i said yesterday, the trilliums are out and they are so pretty! i really love the purple ones... it's nice to see so much colour again... i love spring!

oh and i'm so happy i've been called back to work with the MNR... i have a start date of June 27th... yes! it's only a 5 month contract, but i'll take it!

today's hike

i went for a hike today with the rubester and it was so peaceful! i was able to take my time and look for things that i don't normally see when i'm waking with the girls and phil. i could actually look for birds when i heard them call, i loved it! and i was thrilled to see a rose breasted grosbeak (see pic)... that's not a common sighting for me.

tomorrow for my 11:00 am hike i'm going to bring along my camera so i can try to capture all of this great wildlife! ruby had fun too lying in the stream to get a drink and scaring the little fish. the trilliums are out in full force and there are even some wonderful purple ones that i will take a picture of tomorrow. stay tuned...

Fabulous Day

what a great day we all had yesterday! it started out with a dip in the hot tub and then a relaxing lounge in the sun, next came some reading and after i finished my book i prepared a nice picnic lunch. we drove down to waterford ponds had our lunch and then road our bikes along the trail... saw lots of turtles and a beautiful yellow bird that i have yet to identify. ok, i just figured it out... it is a yellow warbler (isnt it cute!) then rode our bikes to the new playground in waterford and let the girls have some fun on the equipment. then to timmies for some fruit smooties! sophie helped me make homemade chilli for dinner and we ate while watching episodes of little house on the prairie and then the season finale of the amazing race (i really wanted the cowboys to win)... downloaded some new books to the kobo and off to bed. it was a good day :)

how was your mother's day?

saturday didn't go so well as planned... i had attended the oxford centre country fair as a Scentsy vendor, but no one was in a spendy mood. not sure if it was the location, or the crowd, but i did not even break even... apparently i wasn't the only one, the vendor beside me also complained that it just wasn't the greatest show even though tonnes of people came through. i guess you win some, you lose some...

just wanted to share something that i'm so very proud of... miss mia received her C-CAT testing scores yesterday and they were amazing! she has been offered a chance to attend the enrichment program offered in Simcoe one day a week when she starts grade 4 next september!!! she is thrilled and so are we! her score has actually placed her in the gifted category and we couldn't be more proud! way to go mia, keep up the love of learning and continue to be the best person you can be! we love you!

today is friday and the beginning of mother's day weekend... it should be a weekend don't you think? one day isn't enough for all we do LOL! anyhow... i've put a bug in phil's ear on what i want for "my" special day and it looks a little something like this:

i don't usually ask for anything for mother's day, but phil has been talking about the ipad non-stop and thinks i should have one and... well... yes, i agree! tee-hee!

my sister lisa and my adorable little nephew are coming down today to visit for mother's day. we are taking my mom out for dinner to Amigas in simcoe (mmm authentic mexican) our favourite restaurant... can't wait for the chicken soft tacos yummy!

well, i was suppose to cut the grass today, but its not looking good... such a crappie grey day. i need more sun and vitamin D!

not sure if i'll get around to blogging on the weekend so i just want to wish all of the mothers out there a very "Happy Mother's Day"... you deserve it for all you do! i'll leave you with these funny cards...

well... not much has been going on in the Werner household. i've been trying to do some cleaning but cleaning is so not fun! today i have wash the livingroom and bathroom floors on my list, but i might wash windows instead because its so sunny out!

cherie K. leant us season 1 and 2 of little house on the prairie and we are loving it!!! brings back memories of when i used to watch it with my parents LOL. oh and if you happen to watch season 1 episode "the racoon," be prepared for tears!!! oh my, sophie was leaking during the show and mia came to me sobbing after needing hugs... i found myself crying in almost all of the episodes hehe!

i think i have all my camping dates figured out and booked... i may need to book one more, but for now we have 3 places scheduled... Elora, Rockwood and Sibbald Point. should be fun! looking forward to spending some family time camping with my crew.

scentsy is going very well... i have another show this week-end if anyone is interested in coming out and saying hi. its at the Oxford Centre United Church 505225 old stage road, RR #4 woodstock from 9 to 2. i'll have my entire stock with me (mother's day is coming... hint, hint).

next week i'll be heading to backus mill with sophie's class. its been a long time since i've been there... should be fun and i'm actually looking forward to it.

also next week i'm planning on hitting value village with 2 of my friends to see what kinds of treasure i can find. i'm looking forward to spending time with cherie and jen!

Windstorm Damage in Our Area...

Mia & Sophie were called to be picked up at school on Thursday morning at 11:00 due to no hydro. I picked them up and then took a drive (one big loop) and here is some of the damage that we encountered... scary! A lot of these photos were taken on our road, or just around the corner. Our neighbours trampoline ended up across the back field and settled nicely in the forest! Cinderblock barely held our hot tub cover down... what a crazy storm!

We had no hydro for 3 full days and the girls had another day off school... the house was very chilly and Phil is now considering a backup generator.

Some of the hydro poles were snapped right in half and were left hanging! Many of the big fir trees toppled right over, rootball and all because the soil was so damp. Shed roofs blew off and since it was garbage/recycling day our lawn was scattered with trash, but we now have acquired a total of 4 new black boxes LOL!!!

Q. Can Scentsy wax be used in a Non-Scentsy Warmer?

A. Of course, but I wouldn't recommend it. Scentsy's warmers are made specifically for the Scentsy wax, they are set to reach a perfect temperature, they get just warm enough to release the scent into the air without releasing any of the chemicals with it. This is one reason Scentsy Warmers and Scentsy Bars are much safer then regular Candles.

Q. What kind of wax is used when making our Candle Bars?

A. Scentsy uses a food-grade petroleum based wax. Scentsy chose this wax because of its superior scent loading ability, melting point and firmness. Scentsy looked at their waxes, but could not find a good quality vegetable based wax that held the scents. The type of wax we use is a not an issue, with regard to the chemicals released while burning any traditional wicked candles, including tea lights. welp, i'm just in the process of wrapping up my first set of 4 classes for the library technician distance ed course through mohawk. one more assignment to finish and the i've gotta hit the books and study! ugh! not my idea of fun... i never thought i'd have to go thru that again after i graduated from college { how many years ago? i won't say }. thank goodness i only have 2 exams to write, unfortunately they are both scheduled for the same day, another ugh! six hours of happy times! NOT! anyhoo, its gotta be done so i can pass and move on to the next set of courses. wednesday april 19th is the big day, please wish me luck and give me strength! i need to keep my eye on the prize LOL!

On Saturday we ventured with the girls & Ruby to Port Dover to watch Santa arrive on a fishing tug! We then stayed to watch the Christmas Parade... the girls got tonnes of candy! They were thrilled... LOL! Here are a couple of pictures Phil took of me and Ruby and me and the girls all decked out in their Reindeer Hats!

How long does a Scentsy Bar last?

A Scentsy bar lasts 60-80 hours of warming time. So, if you keep your warmer on all the time, you may need to change your scent every three days. If you turn it off at nights or when you are not occupying the space that it is in, it will last longer. You do not have to use the whole bar at once. Break off a couple of pieces and warm them and just change them out when the smell is gone. Some smells last longer than others. It just depends on how strong the scent is in the beginning. The Scentsy brick is equal to six Scensy bars. So you can get roughly 360 hours of smell out of a brick. Lasting scent also depends on the strength of the fragrance and how strong you personally like your scents. Open Windows, humidifiers, and house fans may alter the time the scents last. The Scentsy wax does not evaporate. Once all the smell is gone, you simply pour it out and put more in the warmer.

this has got to be my most favourite picture of me and sophie... we were so excited because we were on our way to swim with the dolphins!

what i'm reading...

i loved reading these two books 'happy hour at casa dracula' and 'midnight brunch' by marta acosta!!! very fun and witty... laugh out loud kind of books. next in the series is 'bride of casa dracula,' just need to find it! for some reason chapters/indigo doesn't have it.

have you read any awesome books lately? i'm always in the mood for some good reads, so let me know!!!

welp, i believe it's time to share some of my layouts... yah, i know, it's been a while... but i just had one of the best scrapbooking weekends with kimmie at the kit company retreat in brantford (circle square ranch) and i was able to complete a total of 9 layouts! i'm going to share 3 today and more to come...

i also wanted to mention that the kit company will be hosting 2 more retreats one in november and one in december. kimmie and i have already paid our deposits for the one in november, so if you've been itchin' to have a girls weekend, don't wait and sign up! i don't think that the info has been posted on the site as of yet, but give janette a quick email to let her know you are interested and she'll be able to fill you in. don't wait, you won't be sorry...

these are layouts of our trip to cuba this past Jan/Feb... we had the best time and the best weather anyone could have asked for!

okay, i'm finally getting caught up with posting my long overdue stash of layouts and cards...

yep, now i'm really showing how far behind i am at posting... yikes!

here is a halloween card i created with IO stamps and the mega mount (awesome tool!). i used the cover a card "fluff" stamp, and witchy kitty stamp (too cute)! to colour in the image i used copic markers... still learning the tricks of the trade on these babies...

i've had this little butterfly card sitting in my pile for way too long without giving it some recognition.

I used 2 awesome stamps from Impression Obsession. i used the ornate frame stamp first by stamping it 3 times on white cardstock. the first one i left colourless, but stamped the butterfly inside (bottom layer), the next one i trimmed our the inner frame and added some colour with my tombow markers (middle layer), the final frame i removed even more of the inner frame and also added some colour. i layered the frames on top of each other with dimensionals. i coloured in the butterfly and then stamped another and coloured it as well. then i used another dimensional and adhered it to the bottom layer and curled the wings a touch. i adhered a strip of coordinating paper to bright cardstock for the card face and then attached it to black leaving a border. i used my white signo gel pen to add the dots and that's it!

wow, finally... i got myself in gear and created!!!

just had some fun with my pencil crayons on this little bunny stamp. i used a MM notebook page for the background and some pretty Primas. that's it... not too complicated.
